Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Pregnancy Support Services (PSS)
ECFA provides compassionate counseling to individuals experiencing unplanned pregnancies whether they are planning to parent or are considering adoption. Counseling may include birth fathers and other family members. Services are free and are provided during pregnancy and up to six months after birth. For parenting clients, we can provide education and support. In cases of adoption, we provide education on open adoption and help clients choose the adoption plan which is most comfortable for them. Pregnancy Support Services help take the crisis out of unplanned pregnancies.
ECFA Counseling Centers
Whenever people need someone to talk to about personal matters or problems in relationships, ECFA’s therapists can provide help which is both Biblically based and professional. ECFA provides individual, premarital, marital, and family counseling services. Areas of special concern include interpersonal relationships, parent/child conflicts, adolescent problems, adoption issues, child/sexual abuse, depression, and grief. All counseling is confidential, and done by licensed professionals. Clients of all ages are served in the Chicago area.
Intact Family Services
ECFA’s Intact Team provides intensive services to families in DuPage County, IL, who are at risk of having their children removed from their home and placed in foster care. The team provides in-home services and referrals to local community resources in order to help the parents correct the conditions that brought the family to the attention of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). We also monitor the home closely to ensure the safety of the children.
Adoption Services
Experienced, dedicated, caring, trustworthy professionals guide prospective adoptive parents through the adoption process. Four options are available: Infant; Special Needs; Agency-assisted: Interstate or International, Foster Care, Private; and Ebryo adoptions; The services are comprehensive, including, but not limited to, state approved home studies, adoption education, home licensure, and post-adoption supportive services. Goals & Strategy

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
ECFA maintains a Long Range Plan (LRP) and an Annual Plan breakdown. The LRP for FY2019-2021 is a total of 16 pages long. There are goals and subordinate objectives identified for each entity:
1. Administration and Support (# of goals)
* Board of Directors (3)
* Development (3)
* Human Resources (3)
* Wisconsin District (3)
2. Services
* Adoption (6)
* Counseling (3)
* Intact Family Services (2)
* Pregnancy Support Services (6)
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The appropriate LRP goals and objectives are reviewed quarterly in various team meetings. Since the Agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children & Family Services, there is high scrutiny of the processes utilized in dealing with clients. In addition, regular reports are generated for the licensing authorities: Illinois Department of Children & Family Services and State of Wisconsin Department of Children & Families. Licensing status: Child Welfare Licenses in Illinois and Wisconsin were active without interruption. The Wisconsin license was renewed for another two years on June 1, 2015. The four-year Illinois license expires August 31, 2017. All concerns identified by the respective state licensing representatives were effectively addressed. Licensed programs are Adoption in Illinois and Wisconsin, and Pregnancy Support Services (for Baby Care Homes) in both states.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Director of Professional Services leads the accreditation process, compiles the Risk Management Review Summary, and leads the Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) team. The entire staff is fully committed to excellence of service and consistently solicits feedback from clients. Past performance is an indication that the capability is imbedded into the ECFA culture, and is based on biblical imperatives of excellence.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Quarterly management reports are generated for Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) and Risk Management. These cover all aspects of the Agency. Despite limited financial resources, ECFA is committed to, and has a reputation for being very good stewards of the funds entrusted to us to help our clients. An example of this stewardship is that staff (and occasionally volunteers) do the janitorial work in our buildings.
