Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Energy Assitance
CEDA assists eligible Cook County residents with their home monthly utility bills, as well as Emergency Furnace Replacement and Repair.
Weatherization Assistance Program
CEDA provides weatherization and rehabilitation to eligible, low-income households. The program entails assessing the home, evaluating its energy efficiency, and devising a work order and completing work on the dwelling and its heating systems. Weatherization work is performed at no cost to eligible homeowners and renters.
WIC - Supplimental Nutrition for Women, Infants and Children
WIC is a supplemental nutrition program focused on healthy eating for moms, babies and kids. WIC provides: nutrition education, nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, vouchers for nutritious foods, and referrals to other social and health services.
Housing and Housing Counseling
CEDA provides rental housing support for 85 low-income households. It also operates a 12-bed transitional residence with support services for homeless veterans moving to permanent housing. CEDA's Housing Counseling is designed to educate, inform, assess, listen, and find creative ways to empower families and individuals in acquiring and maintaining affordable housing.
Family Support and Community Engagement
CEDA works in partnership with low-income residents to become financially stable and escape poverty: case management, financial coaching, employment readiness and placement, scholarships and trade skills training, dental and vision care assistance, rent assistance, auto repairs.
These programs are not offered in the City of Chicago.

What significant change resulted from feedback?
Added Saturday and evening hours at various WIC clinics in 2018. Developed new community-level programming in 2019 to build leadership capabilities among low-income residents.
