Mission

CBM (Christian Blind Mission) works in 80 of the world's poorest countries to prevent disabilities and offer life changing services to children and adults with disabilities.  CBM is an advocate for some of society's most vulnerable people and focuses on four types of disability: blindness/visual, hearing, physical, and mental impairment.  CBM provides relief, services, and advocacy for millions of people each year living with disability in absolute poverty.  Projects include eye hospitals and medical facilities, rehabilitation and therapeutic services, education programs through integrated schools and vocational training programs.

Centre for Sight

Centre for Sight is a partnership with the Sri Lanka Eye Foundation to provide cataract surgery, glasses, ophthalmology exams, and blindness prevention activities throughout Sri Lanka.

Population(s) Served

This vocational training program helps blind and deaf adults in Kenya learn skills such as agriculture, animal husbandry, farming, carpentry and weaving. The goal is to help them learn skills which will allow them to become self-supporting.

Population(s) Served

CBM supports a local eye hospital in Haiti which provides cataract surgeries, vision screenings and community education for blindness prevention. The hospital also conducts mobile medical outreach to other regions of the impoverished country.

Program provides cataract surgeries and eye care for indigent adults and children living in Ecuador. The organization helps fund staff salaries and operating costs for a local clinic.
