Capacity Builder

Goodcity is a faith-based organization that develops capacity in emerging, locally owned community programs in Chicago. Goodcity is an accredited member of the Leadership Foundations of America through which it shares best practices. Goodcity is operating at full capacity with 24 current Programs. The process begins with community leaders approaching Goodcity with start-up programs designed to help economically disenfranchised individuals become independent, self-sufficient, productive citizens operating on a shoe-string. Goodcity provides training, relationships, and empowerment to transform programs and ideas into self-sustaining reality.
Current start-ups strengthen families through after school educational, technical, environmental, sports and drama programs; affordable child care and youth leadership development. Programs also help adults prepare for better jobs, start businesses and improve parenting skills.
