What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Studio Programs
Marwen offers a sequential visual arts curriculum in a range of artistic disciplines/media, including painting, drawing, 3D, photography, time-based media (animation, video), design arts, and intermedia (multi-disciplinary, mixed-media). Marwen offers 80-85 studio courses annually with student enrollment between 1,200 and 1,400.
College, Career, and Alumni Programs
Marwen offers comprehensive programs in college and career exploration and preparation. Programs help students and their families identify, plan for, and fulfill their academic and professional aspirations. We offer 20-25 workshops, courses, special events, and college visits annually, with 500-600 student enrollments and 100 parent/family enrollments.
Teaching & Learning
Our Teaching & Learning Program offers arts-based professional development to around 300 Chicago schoolteachers each year. It also provides professional development for its cohort of teaching artists and leads Marwen’s program evaluation efforts.
