Mission

Agudath Israel of America, founded in 1922, is a broadly based Orthodox Jewish movement with chapters in major communities throughout the United States and Canada. It sponsors a broad range of projects in the fields of religion, education, children, welfare and social action affecting the lives of young and old throughout North America and overseas. Agudath Israel of America is the leading advocate for the religious and civil rights of observant Jews. The organization's dedicated staff advocates on behalf of general Jewish interests and the interests of the Orthodox Jewish community in particular, and presents a responsible Orthodox voice in the halls of government and the pages of the nation's press alike. The Midwest Regional office was founded in 2002 with the mission of representing the needs of the Orthodox Jewish community to the state governments of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. In 2006, the office also became the headquarters for the Government Affairs Division of Agudath Israel of America with oversight of the Texas, California and Maryland operations.
