Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our organizations strives to educate the general public about agriculture and the vital role it plays in their daily lives. We coordinate our county's Agriculture in the Classroom program that works with K-12 teachers; providing classroom presentations and free educational resources to teachers. We offer scholarships to high school and college students pursuing careers in an agriculture-related field. This program also includes students planning to attend/attending technical schools. We awarded $16,500 in 2019. We coordinate summer Farm Camps for kids in 1-5 grades. The week-long camps provide hands-on learning experiences by taking kids to different farms. We completed our fifth summer Farm Camp program in 2019. Since its inception, nearly 1,000 kids have attended a Farm Camp. We offer Classroom Grants to teachers to help defray costs for agriculture-related classroom programs. We offer a maximum of five $200 grants. This is the program's ninth year.
