What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

ACT School

At ACT, academic and after-school programming is drawn from five pillars: college preparation, communication arts, technological literacy, career development, and service learning. ACT is an AVID school, which means that our instructors are committed to preparing every student to attend and succeed in college. Students take a series of progressive core courses in math, science, Humanities, arts, and reading as well as Advanced Placement courses. Our arts program includes photography, theater, video production, and studio art, and features the integrated use of hands-on technology in each area. Launched in 1998, the Career Development Program is a formal career and college exploration component that includes field experiences and internships for students. In addition, ACT has a formal Service Learning program that requires 10 hours of community service per year for each student.
