What we aim to solve
IMANA is looking to address the medical needs of underserved countries worldwide including refugees in war-torn countries. IMANA will also provide medical relief to disaster areas.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
ServeRohingya
IMANA Medical Relief is sending its medical relief teams under the umbrella of FIMA (Federation of Islamic Medical Associations) in coordination with local partners. Our volunteer doctors are traveling to Bangladesh to provide critically needed healthcare to the Rohingya refugees via mobile clinic outreach to the makeshift refugee camps. Since we started our medical missions, our teams have treated and provided free healthcare to over 130,000 patients.
ServePakistan
IMANA Medical Relief started regular missions to Swat Valley, Pakistan in 2019 to provide free healthcare services to the rural community who are navigating through a challenging health care system that is scarcely resourced. Our volunteers travel to a CDRS operated Mother and Child Clinic in Rahat Kot, Swat and have successfully provided medical care to 10,550 patients till October 2021.
Since 2019, IMR has fully funded the operating cost of a health center in the remote Tharparkar region of south-east Pakistan and provided free medical treatment to 23,805 patients since its launch. In this drought-affected area, where locals suffer from extreme poverty and lack basic health facilities, IMANA has also funded two ambulances, enabling emergency patient evacuation, and a mobile clinic with dispensary services. We also funded the establishment of a specialized dental center for the thalassemia patients in Karachi.
IMANA entered into an ongoing collaborative program with an ophthalmology
ServeIndia

Since the beginning of this health care project, 258,372 patients have received free treatment through 2020.

ServeSyria
ServeSyria
Close to 2 million Syrians have been rendered homeless due to the years old civil war in Syria; many are internally displaced refugees while others have moved to neighboring countries. While a small percentage lives in the UN-sponsored camps, the large majority of these people are urban refugees without any access to healthcare facilities. Many of them are elderly, women and children and there is a considerable number of injured people among them.
IMR is one of the few US-based medical relief organizations that has responded to the calls for help. We conduct regular medical relief missions for Syrian, Palestinian & Iraqi refugees, and some needy Jordanian citizens as well, in the environs of Amman, Jordan in collaboration with UMR. Nineteen IMR volunteer teams have traveled there till March 2020, treating nearly 28,886 sick people and distributing free medicines. Nineteen IMR volunteer teams have traveled there till date, treating 28,886 sick people and distributing free med

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
IMANA would like to establish health clinics, hospitals, and provide medical teams to serve the refugees and people in need of medical attention.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
IMANA strategy is simple, partner with local NGOs in the countries along with the ministry of health to figure out what is needed, ones that are established we decide if a Medical mission will help, or building a permanent health clinic will be beneficial. IMANA also trains the local medical personal so they can take care of the people in need when IMANA is not there.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
IMANA has 4500 members in our organization and has over 1000 volunteers who have been to medical missions in the last 15 years. We have tons of volunteers willing to travel to these countries, we have Committees leads for each country we work in, they provide the support needed for IMANA to work. We have relationships with local NGOs and the Ministry of Health in majority of the countries we work in.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
IMANA over the 15 years has accomplished treating over 2.5 Million patients treated worldwide, 153 Medical and Surgical Missions, 30 Health centers constructed, and over 1 million people benefited from Humatrain relief.
IMANA is looking to expand to more countries as well as build more Health centers worldwide. IMANA will do whatever it takes to continue to make its mission happen.

- We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
- We measure and then disaggregate job satisfaction and retention data by race, function, level, and/or team.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
