What we aim to solve
A Work of Faith Ministries, Inc. is a faith-based initiative that is designed to meet the needs of families who do not have the resources to attain the supplemental educational services that are needed to enhance the possibility of success for their children.
Our Community Engagement Teams are currently working on a variety of issues. You can participate in these actions as a volunteer, community resident or by participating as an organizer. We select issues based on the interest of the residents of the communities we serve.
If you would like to become a community organizer, we suggest you register for the Leadership Training program. We also have connections with other leadership and Fellows Leader programs which can teach or enhance leadership skills.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Parent Information and Resource Center
The Parent Information and Resource Center is a resource of A Work of Faith Ministries, Inc., and offers an opportunity to help parents as part of the Parent Information & Resource Center’s (PIRC) program component of the Parent Information & Training Initiative (PITI), a comprehensive effort to reduce youth violence and increase adult engagement and leadership. We train parents to conduct parent-to-parent education and community outreach as Parent Leaders.
Violence Prevention Consortium
The mission of the VPC is to identify and train community residents as violence prevention workers; Serve as a primary point of contact for anyone interested in stemming community and school violence. The VPC is a community gathering of clergy, organizations and residents living in the community who are looking at ways to make the area safer by addressing the immediate safety needs of the people living in the community.
Property Acquisitions Division
The purpose of this division is to raise and examine the allocation of debt funds for the acquisition of residential property. A Work of Faith Ministries, Inc. The youth develop and implement these programs. Adult coordinators are on hand to assist the youth with the development and supervision of projects and events. Friday evenings are youth activity nights, youth come together in social situations. Teens enjoy outings, field trips, movies, video games and more.
Scholastic Endowment Quest program identi¬fies and assists individuals from disadvantaged back¬grounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education.
Leadership Training
Change requires more than righteous anger. It requires a program, and it requires organizing.
To help create a more accessible and participatory democracy, organizers need the skills to turn a desire to change the status quo into meaningful civic action. The Leadership programs are designed to train the next generation of progressive change-makers.
The Leadership Training offers a series of learning experiences for fellows to gain basic, intermediate, and advanced organizing skills from top experts in the progressive world. Fellowship topics include community engagement strategies, digital organizing development, personal story reflection, and issue advocacy tactics.
Whether you’re looking to learn introductory-level organizing skills or to build on your professional experience, Leadership Training can help you take your skills to the next level.

More recently AWOFINC has formed a consortium of local social services organizations. It is anticipated that by the end of 2023 multiple organizations will form a family services network with a collaborative effort to further serve those who are in need. In addition, AWOFINC will now be able to widen their mission with a wealth of experience. The organizations joining AWOFINC will support community partnerships. AWOFINC provides a network of resource centers throughout two counties, staffed by qualified professionals, college volunteers from several area colleges and universities who provide an array of services to mostly low-income community residents.
