What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

PeaceCamp Initiative

The PeaceCamp Initiative is a scholarship fund which brings a few Palestinian and Jewish youth leaders each summer to a sports camp in upstate Pennsylvania - where they forge the bonds of friendship and trust that the next generation of leaders in the Middle East will require if there is ever to be peace.

Population(s) Served

Training Across Borders (TAB) is an international peace building seminar that brings together practitioners of aikido ("The Art of Peace") from conflict regions around the world to train together, participate in cultural exchange, and develop foundations for peace.

Population(s) Served

The Aikido Ethiopia Project (AEP) supports the development of aikido ("The Art of Peace") in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Plans are underway to expand the model to other parts of Ethiopia and the region. The Hawassa Dojo provides regular training for 100 boys, girls, and young adults – 30% of whom are female.

Population(s) Served

Aiki Extensions supports two programs that provide aikido opportunities for veterans suffering from combat related post traumatic stress disorder. Keganin No Senshi Aikido provides "train the trainer" workshops, to help aikido teachers understand the special needs of veterans. Aikido for Veterans is a pilot program at Ft. Carson, CO that provides aikido practice for veterans.

Population(s) Served

International Aiki Peace Week (IAPW) is an annual, world-wide celebration of aikido's peace building capacity. Dojos around the world sponsor special events in their communities that emphasize aikido's commitment to peace, health, and happiness.
