World Surfing Reserves

Through our World Surfing Reserves program, wecreate well-managed protected areas in high priority coastal ecosystems that overlap with high quality surf.

The Surfonomics program works to better understand the social and economic value of pristine coastlines and quality surfing waves through research and economic studies.

Our SPAN project establishes a systematic approach to conserving large numbers of surf ecosystems that can scale quickly.

We engage and aid communities in the ongoing effective management of surf ecosystems. Stewardship allows us to safeguard the conservation gains made through our protected areas program. Both the Stewardship Platform and the Save The Waves App empower the global surfing community to monitor the health of their surf ecosystems by using technology tools to identify threats and participate in the mitigation of those threats.
