What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The funding that we receive from the CFC Government Campaign has decreased for 5 years in a row due to a decision in Washington of a committee of professionals to attempt to fix the Campaign. The Campaign was doing fine but they thought it needed fixing. As a result our income has gone down 80% over the last 5 years. This has put a strain on all of our programs. We have had to cut programs, salaries, grants for research, travel and GIK shipments.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Esperanza De Vida (Hope of Life)

Breast Cancer Aid and Research Institute (BCARI) provides shipments of medical supplies, medical equipment and humanitarian aid to Esperanza De Vida to be used by those in need in hospitals in Guatemala that treat breast cancer and other degenerative diseases. BCARI supports 6 hospitals in the Zacapa Region. The hospitals provide much needed medical care to many of the needy and disadvantaged people of their areas. The lack of properly equipped medical facilities and medical supplies contribute to the ongoing challenge of saving lives. Last year 23,000 cancer patients received treatment.

People with diseases and illnesses

Oasis of Hope Cancer Hospital has been treating cancer patients for over 60 years. Thousands of people come from all over the world for treatment. At Oasis they have tested over 75 different cancer therapies.
They presently are practicing Integrative Cancer Therapy, which takes the best of the traditional and the best of the alternative and blends them together. Their success rate is twice that of the National Health Institute in the USA.

Terminally ill people

BCARI networks with the 3000 Club to distribute boxes of fruits and vegetables to the needy. Scientific research has proven that a diet of fruit and vegetables helps build the immune symptom and fights breast cancer. About 2000 people come for nutritious food each month.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We would like to get back to where we were 5 years ago when we were supporting more programs, shipping more containers of Medical supplies and equipment to hospitals and clinics that treat breast cancer and other related diseases. We also would like to travel to our projects to meet with directors and verify that they are fulfilling our charity mission.

We are working to develop a network of social media outreaches to reach more potential donors, face book, twitter, Guidestar and any others that will be a benefit to us.

We have hired a social media consultant to help us fulfill our goals.

We have not accomplished much at this time and have just resently been hired a social media consultant to help us.
