Pushing for Peace
Promoting Peace and Health through Tai Chi movement and philosophy
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Since Columbine High School, violence and gun violence has been a terrible problem in our country. The rest of the world struggles with violence too - violence against women, and violence against ethnic minorities, in particular. While kung fu training appears quite violent, its more evolved subset - Tai Chi - provides a feeling of calmness and balance within a world full of stress. We have taken Tai Chi, which is a lengthy, long, laborious filed of study, and deconstructed it into a series of 9 solo, partnered and group games that can be played anywhere, anytime. A ring, gym, playing field are not needed because the changes in the energy happen within each human's body frame and frame of mind.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is world peace, but short of that, we will settle for Peace on Earth!!!
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are trying to bring the Peace Games to as many venues as we can. We have connected with other orgs. such as RJOY (Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth) and teach the Peace Games and give the manuals to their counselors. We have brought these games to non-profits in other countries, to the public schools in Paris, which are having a hard time integrating refugees into their native population. We do this by constantly reaching out to others, whether they be teachers or department heads of universities.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We maintain a website on Flipcause and they take in donations, as well as Facebook. We encourage each "Peace Games Ambassador"
to raise funds for their own missions. I write and publish many articles about our work. We post videos on Youtube as well. You can look up Preventing Violence in Western Kenya on Youtube and learn all about one Peace Games mission.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Taught the Peace Games at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery
Taught 70 international educators for at-risk youth at a Neo-Humanist Educational Summit in Sweden.
Taught the Peace Games to at-risk youth in Oakland, CA.
Taught the Peace Games at Standing Rock.
Taught the Peace Games in Ahero, Africa to 3000 impoverished youth.
