Horizons Atlanta Summer Learning and Enrichment Program
Horizons Atlanta’s signature program is a transformational, community-centered, summer learning and enrichment program for K-8 students. Horizons students attend a tuition free summer program on the resource-rich campuses of independent schools, colleges, and universities. In small classes led by professional teachers, our students dive into rich curricula with a focus on literacy and STEAM. Each of our program sites offer:
-A minimum of 6 hours of daily programming across six weeks during the summer;
-Access to intervention by a trained Reading Specialist, who works with students who need extra support and coaches teachers to ensure students’ needs are being met;
-2+ hours of swim instruction weekly;
-A weekly field trip to science, cultural, arts, and entertainment centers;
-A minimum of 2 meals and a snack daily to help close the summer hunger gap that exists for many of our students; and
-Transportation to and from the program sites, field trips, swimming, and special events.
