Mission

SPUD.inc is an alternative way of thinking. With the change increasing with each generation the approach has to adjust to the modern circumstances. From bullying to gang relations todays youth and young adults are far separated from the common ways of aid or correction. SPUD.inc wants to take the approach of “not pointing out what you are doing wrong, but what can you do differently." The worst thing we can do is point the finger towards a person who already feels they cannot do anything right or have any choices. We not only relate in connection with them, we enter their world ...we enter their world through the arts.Music is one of the biggest influences in the world. From children to elders music has been the bridge over many gaps in social conflict. SPUD.inc wants to be that bridge.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Our aim is to give the youth and young adults a new outlet to express and engaged their thoughts in reality. What's the ever growing success of technology we have to find new ways to reach entertain the young minds. With music being a big influence we utilize the system of creating music to engage the youth and apply the saying, "life imitates art" to show them how parallel the two can be. This allows the participant to express themselves in a fashion that would allow us to enter their thoughts, lives, and mindset with the opportunity to add change. We want to explore bully, body shaming, violence, abuse, and use the arts forms of music to dancing with techniques how to transfer these feelings and situations to a positive outcome.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

EQ (Excahnge Quality Program)

The EQ’s program is a new way to explore addiction and drug abuse. We make the functions of an EQ parallel to a step-by-step look at addiction. An EQ in-takes a signal (addiction/drug) and that signal is altered or disrupted. At the same time if that signal is acknowledged and understood you can have a mindful living.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Without anger management program we found ways to integrate Music making with a detailed outline on how to transfer anger to get better results. With our EQ program we've created a simplified diagram on how to manage abusive situations to retain self love. Move theory program has a step-by-step transformation from the negative to the positive on how are my body, body and soul can come out of dark situation into a better once.

Two years prior us creating the programs we analyzed all forms of music and dance from hip-hop, R&B, soul, and gospel to create a program that will be stimulating to today's youth. We've incorporated technology and integrated computer services to round off the generations interest.

We have invested in all the proper technology to perform music making parallel to major recording studios. We have engineers who are not only produces I who have also facilitated anger aggression decision-making and mindful thinking programs. We have teamed up with local public schools as well of charter schools to engage with school staff to bring acknowledgement and information about our mission and aim. local recording studios also offered us the space and additional equipment needed to fulfill any capacity of participants.

One of our biggest success stories is the truce we help create between the bloods and Crips gangs in Brooklyn. We've used our program to bring both sides to create music together and within that creation they were able to found peace to be among each other. Te international in the Bronx has allowed our program to work with the students and six classes were nominated to have a meeting with Roc nation recording label to hear the progress that they have created. This has violence has drop 54% due to our program in 6 months.
