What we aim to solve
Many of the greatest challenges we face as a planet - global poverty, educational inequality, climate change, food insecurity and biodiversity loss - must be solved from the ground up. Without a common global purpose and active stakeholders at the grassroots level, no lasting changes will be able to take root in countries and communities around the world. That's why we aim to empower local, social entrepreneurs around the world to drive lasting, positive change in their own communities and unite them around the common, critical goals of our global community.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Students4Students
Students4Students is a fundraising campaign led by GIVE, university student groups, and past volunteers nationwide to support equitable education initiatives in our host communities year round, including teacher salaries, secondary school scholarships, literacy programs, computer science courses and educational school gardens. This campaign plays a major role in sustaining our education programs for our students in Thailand, Laos, Nicaragua, Nepal, and Tanzania throughout the year. Our goal is to empower local teachers to provide students with their basic human right to quality education. Donations are tax-deductible through the GIVE Foundation. Join us in supporting equitable education abroad with a financial contribution. Thank you!
Asian Elephant Welfare and Conservation
Funding the implementation of free veterinary care, reintroduction to natural habitats and positive reinforcement training techniques for captive elephants in Thailand, while also driving an industry shift towards community and conservation-based responsible elephant tourism. This program directly supports conservation biologists, veterinarians, animal welfare groups, responsible tourism providers, and mahouts (elephant caretakers), in their unique and equally important efforts to achieve practical, science-based, market-driven and holistic solutions to human-elephant conflict in Thailand.
Sustainable Agriculture Training
Our training programs serve a variety of unique purposes and populations in Thailand and Laos, ranging from primary and secondary schools, organic farmer cooperatives and entire communities. We hire local experts in sustainable agriculture to design, manage and continually develop training programs, based around the specific goals and expectations of each local partner. Once a training program has been established, we invite local students, teachers and community members to participate in capacity building workshops on subjects ranging from Land Design, Organic Vegetable & Fruit Tree Production, Aquaculture, Animal Husbandry, Organic Pest Control, Natural Building, and other practical skill sets that drive production, earning potential, and ecological benefits for local farmers. Furthermore, we aim to develop resilient, local food economies by connecting growers with local schools, hotels and restaurants.
Tropical Forest Restoration & Research
The GIVE Foundation provides funding to a team of ecologists and research students at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, who conduct research to develop efficient methods to restore tropical forest ecosystems for biodiversity conservation, environmental protection and carbon storage. This unit also provides technical training to a wide range of organizations involved in forest restoration and actively engages with local people to integrate biodiversity conservation into the needs of their communities.
Wildlife Conservation in Laos
We are partnering with a local NGO that collaborates with government agencies to locate and rescue Asiatic black bears, macaques, leopard cats, tortoises, exotic birds, civets, endangered red pandas and other captured wildlife from the illegal wildlife trade. Rescued animals are rehabilitated and returned to the wild whenever possible or, in cases where the physical and mental trauma is too severe for reintroduction, animals are relocated to world-class wildlife sanctuaries. Funding also supports Education and Awareness programs that educate local and international youth groups about wildlife, the environment, conservation & sustainability.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The GIVE Foundation envisions a future where local, social entrepreneurs are enacting market-driven and outcome-based solutions to poverty reduction, educational equity, women’s empowerment, wildlife conservation, food security and ecosystem restoration across the planet. These local leaders, educators and innovators hold the keys to unlocking the potential of their own communities. It is our mission to unite them around humanity’s shared goals and values: Education, Environment & Entrepreneurship.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are directly investing in the innovative thinkers, the ambitious students, the passionate educators and the compassionate leaders who have the greatest capacity to achieve positive outcomes in their home countries and communities. With proven success operating in six countries, we provide training, funding and expertise to effective social enterprises, NGO’s, institutions, nonprofits, cooperatives and educators working to increase access to quality education, protect the environment and expand pathways to entrepreneurship.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The GIVE Foundation works hand-in-hand with our sister company, GIVE (Growth International Volunteer Excursions). Since 2012, GIVE has facilitated international service-learning trips for more than 6,000 student volunteers in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Thailand, Laos and Nepal. This dynamic partnership has provided the GIVE Foundation with a strong organizational structure, an extensive network of engaged and passionate donors, and established partnerships with effective social enterprises, NGOs, universities, nonprofits, cooperatives, experts and educators around the world. Furthermore, nearly all of our administrative responsibilities are carried out by our sister company, which means that nearly all of the Foundation's revenue is allocated directly towards accomplishing our mission, with minimal administrative overhead.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In our first fiscal year, we are extremely proud to have accomplished our primary goal of spending one-hundred percent of the Foundation's revenue on our equitable education, environmental conservation and social entrepreneurship initiatives. Zero administrative costs.
Moving forward, we aim to double our total revenue by making significant strides in our fundraising and online marketing campaigns.
