Education cut short by war, a foreign economy making new business startup difficult, and various other obstacles prevent our new international friends from feeling truly American and a true part of their new culture.

All Nations aims to remove the barriers to equal access for immigrants and refugees by providing educational support and access to comprehensive education, new business startup mentoring, and comprehensive youth development. By doing so, it is our hope that each refugee and immigrant is freed to exercise the fullness of their capabilities to make an equal and empowering contribution to the community in which they live.

To overcome educational barriers, we partner with ed2go to make an accredited High School diploma program available to those in need of a high school education. We also provide HiSET testing and tutoring for those closer to college level who need a high school equivalency. To overcome the difficulty barrier to new business development, we partner entrepreneurial refugees and immigrants with established and successful members of the business community who assist the new business owner with developing a comprehensive business plan that makes sense in an American marketplace and then walks with them through full execution. To make certain that the children of these individuals are well prepared themselves to be contributing leaders in the community, All Nations goes beyond childcare, and offers the children of participating adults access to art, music, and physical education as well as leadership and literacy training in partnership with Kiwanis International. In all three programs, All Nations builds on a foundation of friendship and community. Each adult participant is assigned an American friend on a 1-to-1 basis, someone whose entire purpose in the organization is to come alongside the New American as they pursue their dream. They check on their progress. They celebrate their wins. They mourn together when something goes wrong. In short, they do life alongside the individual so that they do not have to walk this path alone.

All Nations is staffed by individuals who spent years volunteering with refugees and immigrants prior to founding the organization. The education vendor, language support programming, business launch system, and youth development curriculum and cycle were developed from needs brought forward in focus groups, 1-on-1 conversations, and a soft launch in January-April of 2019 in which programs were executed and then analyzed for quality and effectiveness. In addition to having a well-tested and researched program foundation, All Nations' reputation and network within the St. Louis faith community gives us access to a wide body of volunteers and experts so that each refugee is truly empowered to accomplish what they set out to accomplish.

Educational program clients will regularly be engaged in testing as part of the ed2go High School curriculum or as part of the HiSET training when they are with us directly, and will be receiving traditional grades when they move on to college where we will still stand alongside them as a support and encouragement system. The results of testing and the acquisition of grades will help us to determine the progress of each individual participant as well as the success of the program as a whole. On the business development side, each business mentor will establish a timeline for the startup to go from its current state to business launch and then beyond to a period of self-evaluation. Progress will be measured against this timeline. We will also know then if particular coaches tend to outperform or underperform those timelines which helps us to evaluate the coach in addition to the individual business project. Further, we will be able to measure success of the overall program by how many businesses are successfully launched vs. those who sought to do so.

So far we have completed focus groups, research, program design, vendor selection, and soft launch. We have 12 adults that participated in the soft launch, as well as 15 children who regularly attended the youth development program. As it was just a short term test launch, there are no success metrics yet. Next we will finish securing our financial base so that we have true sustainability, and we will adjust the system design and infrastructure based on the inputs we received from the soft launch. We are targeting a full launch in Q4 2019 or Q1 2020.
