Beyond Jobs

This holistic program is designed to assist low-income women with career pathway planning, job training, employment search, and leveraging family sustaining
resources leading to economic stability.

Population(s) Served

Flip the Script prepares men and women ages 18-30 who reside in Wayne County for non-traditional careers in the Skills, Building and Construction industry, by providing math, reading, social, and life skills training. In collaboration with the Michigan Department of Corrections, vocational assessment, employment readiness training, job search/job development coaching and transitional work experience opportunities are provided for parolees to facilitate their transition and reintegration in the community.

A Flip the Script anchored initiative in partnership with the Michigan Department of Corrections. Diversionary program designed to help young men and women, ages 16-29, who are low - to medium risk offenders to overcome adversity and barriers to employment and training. Service components include career counseling, life and social skills development, computer training, cognitive thinking instruction, conflict resolution, financial literacy, education recovery and GED preparation, and job placement.

American Welding Society Level 1 Certification - Entry Level Welder training program designed to prepare men and women for employment in the welding and metal fabricating industry.

Goodwill’s North Oakland Career Centers, located in Novi and Highland, in partnership with Oakland County Michigan Works! Agency, provide job seekers customer focused employment and career planning, skill assessment, career counseling and career development assistance. Businesses are provided personnel recruitment/outreach and retention services.

Case management and services coordination for veterans seeking community resources to access job training, education, employment services, and supportive services.

The Skill Building program provides an array of specialized skill development and support for their adults with developmental disabilities to increase vocational skills, economic self-sufficiency and to engage in meaningful activities.

A Place of Our Own Clubhouse is a psychological rehabilitation program where individuals with mental illness have an opportunity to improve the skills necessary to function in their living, working and social environments.
