Health Products

Access to non-equipment products such as over-the-counter and prescription medicines, nutritional supplements and personal care items play a key role in health care systems. International Aid’s goal is to excel in directing health products from socially responsible corporations to humanitarian organizations with great ministry opportunity.

Population(s) Served

International Aid serves as a critical link between equipment donor and recipients to guarantee equipment donations are ready to use. The organization is one of the largest refurbishers of medical equipment in the non-profit world, providing anything from anesthesia machines to x-ray equipment. The organization helps hospitals in developing nations attain self-sufficiency in equipment operations by supplying them with new and refurbished medical equipment, operations manuals and technical field support. Additionally, International Aid offers assessments for hospitals and medical centers preparing to expand or enhance current operations. Onsite evaluations, recommendations for next steps and a list of needed resources are provided. Lastly, medical professionals in remote areas lack access to proper equipment and accurate diagnosis is nearly impossible. IA's solution is a portable lab capable of providing accurate and immediate results.

Population(s) Served

International Aid responds to disasters around the world. With the help of our local partners and donors, we are able to support the rebuilding efforts for people in greatest need. International Aid’s emergency response goals are to support others in first response, to replenish medical equipment and supplies, to focus on rebuilding efforts to restore the area, and finally to prevent disease with portable medical labs and hygiene kits.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our Focus: International Aid was organized to respond to the Biblical mandates to provide relief to the world's poor, sick, and suffering by providing food, medicine, and other assistance, both in the United States of America and in other countries throughout the world, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission: International Aid glorifies Christ by providing medical and health resources to global partners serving people in need.

Our Approach: Since its inception in 1980, International Aid has equipped servants worldwide with the tools they depend on to bring healing and restoration to those who desperately need to know the one True Healer. This is done through the distribution of life-saving medicines, hygiene products, nutritional supplements and reconditioned medical equipment to hundreds of ministries and humanitarian organizations serving in areas of greatest need. As a 501(c)(3) organization, International Aid has had the privilege of easily partnering with thousands of like-minded individuals, businesses and associations who give of themselves so that others may receive a better quality of life

Our Goal: Over the next three to five years we are seeking to grow the number of donors who give either monetarily or in gift-in kind, while also expanding the network of partners we provide support, thereby increasing the number of recipients impacted.

International Aid tangibly demonstrates the love of Christ to a hurting world through two primary ministries: International Aid's Health Products Services and International Aid's Medical Equipment Services.

Medical Equipment Services:
Our Medical Equipment Services is one of the largest re-conditioners of medical equipment in the non-profit world. Our on-staff bio medical technicians ensure that every piece of equipment sent to our partners in the field is in working condition, is covered by a warranty and has been adapted to fit the region's power source. International Aid is committed to being good stewards of the equipment entrusted to us by sending only appropriate, sustainable shipments to partners serving in areas of greatest need.

Lab-In-A-Suitcase:
Lab-In-Suitcase® is a basic portable laboratory that provides many of the laboratory tests most frequently requested by medical practitioners.

Health Products:
International Aid's Health Products team works to direct medicines, health products and nutritional supplements from socially responsible corporations to ministries and humanitarian organizations. International Aid primarily addresses chronic medical and health issues related to poverty, however the ministry is also dedicated to being an outlet by which the West Michigan community can respond to disasters situations. This is done by assessing the situation, contacting in-country partners concerning their needs and then supplying them with the tools they need in the process of rebuilding.

Disaster Relief:
We are committed to responding to major disasters throughout the world by providing relief supplies to disaster victims and areas.

Gift in Kind Donors: International has been blessed with a broad range of socially responsible corporations from across the US who embrace our vision and agreed to donate gift in kind. In fiscal year 2018 (7/1/17-6/30/18) we had 111 different donors provide approximately $28M worth of donated product.

Monetary Donors: International has been blessed with a broad range of monetary donors ranging including individuals, churches, schools, corporations, foundations and estate gifts. In fiscal year 2018, (7/1/17-6/30/18) we received donations from approximately 1900 different donors across 41 different states.

Network of Partners: Working with in-country partners, International Aid is able to send shipments of aid to the areas of greatest need. In our 2018 fiscal year alone (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018), health products and/or medical equipment from International Aid was used by 124 ministries and humanitarian organizations working in 56 countries. We also collaborate with other like-minded organizations through our membership with the Technical Exchange for Christian Healthcare (TECH) and Christian Connections for International Healthcare (CCIH).

Technical Expertise: Our medical equipment services program is a full service department employing three full time Biomed technicians with over 40 years combined experience. The department can service a large range of equipment from anesthesia machines to x-ray and imaging devices. Our biomed lab is one of the best equipped of any not for profit medical equipment re-furbisher. It includes 8 workstations able to work with any of the world's electrical power sources and one station includes an anesthetic gas exhaust system. The lab has piped in gases for anesthesia testing and a lead lined x-ray room. Lastly, it includes an equipment manual library with over 1,000 different manuals.
