What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Hunger Task Force
The Hunger Task Force organizes local individuals, community groups, and religious institutions to respond to the problems of hunger both in Washtenaw County and around the world.
Our major event is the CROP Hunger Walk in which we recruit walkers to raise funds for local and global hunger relief agencies. We complement this direct relief work with community education on the causes of poverty and hunger and ways people can address these root issues
Common Ground for Peace in Israel/Palestine
Common Ground brings together people from various backgrounds affected by the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, including religious groups such as Jews, Muslims, and Christians as well as ethnic groups such as Israelis and Palestinians.
To address the polarization and strife of the issue, Common Ground seeks to build understanding and identify shared values that will promote a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Common Ground's activities include interfaith explorations of non-political issues to create a safe space for sharing, hosting speakers to help residents expand their understanding of the conflict, and dialogue groups to create mutual understanding.
