Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Guiding Light wants to continue to break down barriers that get in the way of men getting back to work and being productive members of the community. We do this through both our recovery program and Back to Work program.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Guiding Light breaks down barriers to sustainable employment and permanent housing in a multitude of ways. We work closely with the men to help them pay down debts and even offer a debt repayment program. We work with Friend of the Court to reduce child support while men establish themselves and regain employment. We provide a recovery program, which helps men overcome addiction and re-engage with community.
Additionally, we established The Job Post, a staffing agency, and social enterprise of Guiding Light. The Job Post works with men and women 18 and older to help them find employment. Individuals do not need to be accepted or a part of any Guiding Light programs to utilize this service.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Guiding Light maintains a highly educated and passionate Board and staff to help us meet our goals. We are focused on excellence and are constantly learning new ways to help our men, as well as identifying new barriers to employment and sustainable housing.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
