Mission

Wells of Agape is a Christian based facility that promotes the overall well-being for at risk children and families, by modeling, mentoring, and teaching familiy values. We address the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of families through faith based counseling, goal setting, and mentoring and life skills training. Through these services, our clients learn coping skills, communication skills, parenting skills, and household management; preparing them for preservation or successful reunification, as well as independent living skills. Our services are recognized by our local court system, child protective services, probation, and parole offices. We also go into our local jail and prison facilities to teach some of our services.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

We have a heart for families. During our times as foster parents we saw children come into the system. They received the help they needed while in care, but so often, when they would go back home , if nothing had changed at home, they would end up back in care. Our hope is to lessen re-entry into care. Unfortunately, what we saw is, once they re-enter care they already know how the system works and they usually end up bouncing from foster home to foster home.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Restoration and reunification of families. If we can help the parents then we have truly helped the children. To address the emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of families through faith based counseling, goal setting, mentoring and life skills training. Through these services, our clients will learn coping skills, communication skills, parenting skills and household management; preparing them for preservation or successful reunification, as well as independent living skills.

Modeling, mentoring and teaching family values by offering parenting classes, anger management classes, faith based counseling, and a recovery support group.

During our 11 years as foster parents we underwent parent training yearly. We have a certified faith based counselor on staff. We also have an anger resolution therapist on staff. We have a strong volunteer base with the same passion for families that we have.

We have heard of successful re-unification's of families. One of our clients that went through our parenting class 8 years ago is now a volunteer and teaching a segment of our class. One of our Foster girls graduated from a University with a degree in social work and is teaching a segment on abandonment.
