What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Discretionary Grant Program
We award grants from charitable funds that people, businesses and organizations establish to benefit their favorite charitable organizations. While a large majority of our annual grants are directed by donors, we also have discretionary grant dollars that are awarded through application processes using grants committees made up of local volunteers. These grants represent about 5% of our total annual grants.
Our board of directors has established these focus areas to guide our discretionary grantmaking:
Community Leadership
Advance projects that address a need important to the quality of life in the Fox Valley Region.
Arts & Culture
Enhances availability of creative experiences through the arts, museums and other cultural opportunities.
Basic Needs and Self-Sufficiency
Supports programs that help people sturggling to be self-sufficient and solutions that move people out
of poverty.
Community Education
Supports high-impact events or programs that inform or create awareness in the community.
Nonprofit Effectiveness
Helps nonprofits plan and implement ways to strengthen their internal workings to serve the community better.
Environmental Sustainability
Addresses environmental challenges with solutions that help the natural environment, are economically feasible
and benefit all segments of the community.
