What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
CVSA Family and Adult Conference
Family and adult conference to educate CVS sufferers as well as doctors. A time for CVS sufferers to meet each other and learn about research being done on cyclic vomiting syndrome.
CVSA and B Li Young Investigator Award
The Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association (CVSA) Young Investigator Prize in honor of B Li in Functional GI Disorders has been developed to promote the pursuit of research in these conditions. This award will be given to a young investigator submitting an outstanding scientific abstract focusing on basic science, clinical investigation or outcomes research in the following conditions: Cyclic vomiting syndrome, aerophagia, rumination syndrome, functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, or functional abdominal pain (submissions for any other condition must have a written justification for inclusion in this category). Award decisions are made by NASPGHAN.
Treatment Guidelines
The clinical treatment guidelines for pediatric CVS were originally published in 2012. Most of the information is clearly outdated and may not even be used in the current environment. More research has been done and newer more effective treatments are being evaluated. It is imperative that these treatment guidelines are updated to reflect current treatment and promote more effective ways of treating cyclic vomiting in the pediatric population.
Virtual Expert Presentations
CVSA works on virtual opportunities to present information applicable to cyclic vomiting syndrome for patients and those interested in learning more about it.
Support Call for patients and families
Support group zoom calls are meant to provide support to patients, caregivers, and families impacted by CVS.
Medical Outreach for CVS Awareness
CVSA attends medical conferences to provide information about CVS to medical professionals and groups that may encounter, treat, or need more awareness of cyclic vomiting syndrome.
