Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Schuetzen Park Historic Site
The Schuetzenpark Gilde has undertaken a variety of projects to preserve the remnants of Schuetzen Park. Primarily, we have restored the Park's Street Car Halle, or waiting pavilion. This is the only remaining original Park structure. We improved and expanded the Park's nature trails, planted food producing bushes and trees for the Park's wildlife. We recently renovated our small lodge, The Jens Lorenzen Pavilion, which is now usable year-round. Annually, we present a cultural retrospectives on the Park's original grounds. We have presented concerts, German Shepherd Dog shows, Volksmarches and American Turner athletic events. and the like. Currently, the site is also being used as an outdoor educational site for topics related to conservation of the natural environment.
