What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Our therapy center continues to strive towards ensuring each person can receive therapy regardless of their ability to pay. Many insurance companies have difficulty in assisting our families with medically needed therapy.

Intensive Treatment Program for autism, brain injury, and cerebral palsy

Nature's Edge Therapy Center programs include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy services, both direct and consultative, to children and adults. We operate our our Summer Learning Out-Of-Doors program each summer to assist with social skills, staying active, and a preschool interactive group. We also operate our Reminiscing on the Farm program for our local area senior care facilities.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We desire to provide better communication skills and greater independence for our patients through therapy augmented and motivated by equine movement, animal companions and horticulture. All therapy is provided on our 65-acre ranch by licensed and qualified speech, occupational and physical therapists and promotes the human-animal bond.

Nature's Edge Therapy Center uses the combination of licensed and qualified therapists using conventional treatment with non-conventional tools such as hippotherapy (the movement of the horse), animal-assisted therapy and horticulture therapy to provide intensive, targeted therapy. At Nature's Edge, we emphasize affordable therapy, seeking to procure scholarship funding through grants and donations to help our patients receive the therapy that they need. We also depend on the gifts, talents and service of many volunteers.

At Nature's Edge a key element in our organizational culture is teamwork, incorporated into working relationships between staff, volunteers, patients, families and caregivers of patients, and animal companions. This teamwork foundation permits a clear focus on the goals necessary for achievement for each patient.

One powerful tool for rehabilitation that we provide is our weeklong Diane's House stay for intensive therapy. This therapy package is especially helpful for patients who do not live close to our 65-acre ranch and therefore who cannot use our outpatient clinic for daily or weekly therapy. We have had several families receive intensive therapy at Diane's House with great success. We are working at better marketing and promotion of the Diane's House intensive therapy to benefit more families.
