What we aim to solve
Madison Community Foundation brings people together for the common good. We connect donors to the causes they care about, and help them create permanent legacies for a community they love. We fund important projects and programs that improve the quality of life for citizens in Dane County, Wisconsin. We promote effectiveness within the nonprofit field, and help them unlock their potential by funding opportunities for growth.

Grants
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, MCF awards grants and scholarships from many individual funds to nonprofit organizations and individuals throughout Dane County and beyond. The foundation provides donors with a simple, convenient and flexible way to make a positive difference now and far into the future.

MCF has a culture of putting the interests of the donor at the heart of the conversation
We provide 80 years of experience and local knowledge, coupled with an orientation toward continuous improvement
We follow rigorous national accreditation and peer-to-peer benchmarking programs
Our organizational structure and strategic plan reflect the capabilities and focus of each MCF department, and make best use of each team's core competencies and expertise
We benefit from a large and diverse Board of Governors that sets policy for the organization
We follow clear and transparent policies, procedures and accountabilities for donor engagement, grantmaking, investment and service
We have developed a multi-county nonprofit database to help donors connect with organizations doing the work they want to support in the community, and are committed to efficiency and effectiveness in the field
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
At the end of 2022
-Net Promoter Score grew by 36% (from 47 'Good' to 64 'Excellent')
-Core assets were at $269million
-Grantmaking engaged nearly 250 different nonprofits in 2022 with education and mentoring opportunities
-More than 5,000 people took advantage of our Greater Madison Nonprofit Directory
-Website visitors have more than doubled since 2017
