Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Give Us Wings envisions a more just world where poverty and inequality have been eradicated. Give Us Wings works to achieve this in Uganda by encouraging, supporting and partnering with people living in extreme poverty as they transform their lives and become self-sufficient through greater access to quality health care, education and economic opportunities.

Give Us Wings works together in partnership with the people of Uganda and together they have raised thousands of people out of the horrors of extreme poverty. We listen closely to the needs as explained by the people in Uganda and then work to raise funds for the appropriate programs related to improvement in health, education and livelihoods.

Give Us Wings has two full-time staff in the United States and 16 full-time staff in Tororo, Uganda (The staff are all from Uganda). There is a very active Board of Directors and Steering Committee and volunteer base in the United States. There is a loyal and expanding donor base, as well.

Give Us Wings partnered with two communities as they built health clinics that provide immunizations, pre-natal care, primary health care and HIV/AIDS care. Previously the people in these communities were dying in their homes or along the road as they walked to get to inadequate health care a great distance away. The Health Center in Tororo, Uganda is about to reach Level III status, which will come with expanded levels of support. In 2019 we added onsite housing for medical staff and a large inpatient ward so that patients could stay overnight if needed. The health center is now open 24 hours a day and has seen a surge in births in the maternity ward. Give Us Wings' clinic -- St. John's Kayoro Health Center in Uganda- continues to get the highest accolades from government officials and, most importantly, local community members. 2020/2021 will bring electricity to the medical compound.

Give Us Wings' Family to Family Program facilitates a partnership between 85 families in the United States and in Uganda so that they may send one of their children to a high-quality school, secure health insurance and obtain training and support to improve their farms and businesses.

We are working with community groups as they move toward the creation of a business cooperative to help with their profits.
