LABOURE SOCIETY
Help Rescue Vocations!
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The vast majority of Catholic seminaries and religious communities in this country will not accept into formation men and women who have outstanding student loan debt. Vocations studies tell us there are roughly 3000 men women seriously discerning priesthood or religious life who face this obstacle. Laboure solves this problem for the church by teaching "aspirants" to religious life a Catholic based, metric driven, collective fundraising model they will use to raise money for vocations to as a collective class of 20-25 aspirants. Laboure's model is proven, it is unique and it allows the aspirants to erase five and six figure debt in 6-24 months rather than 15-20 years. Laboure holds in reserve the awards received and pays the lenders directly over a 3 year period. In the 37th month the balance of the loan is paid off. The 3 year process ensures that a person can not "game" the system by having their debt paid off immediately and then leaving formation in a matter of weeks or months

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Labouré's Strategic Goals 2015-2020
Labouré has set ambitious goals for its program. The sense of urgency in delivering more men
and women into religious formation requires that Labouré build an infrastructure that will service a
higher number of aspirants on an annual basis by delivering additional class programs around the
country. Labouré's strategic goals are to:
a.) Increase the aspirant class program annually to reach a goal of 150 aspirants in the
year 2020.
b.) Sustain and improve our state of the art aspirant development process.
c.) Cultivate additional partnerships with Catholic dioceses.
d.) Increase collaboration and alliance with strategic Catholic organizations.
e.) Collaborate with the education loan industry to streamline and optimize the servicing
of aspirant education loan.s
f.) Achieve sustainable philanthropic funding for the growth and support of Labouré
operations.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Labouré helps aspirants who have discerned entrance into
a religious institute or diocese and have been accepted
contingent upon the mitigation of their education loan debt.
Charitable donations intended to help these aspirants as
individuals would not be tax-deductible. Labouré's innovative
class program design avoids this restriction by gathering
the aspirants into a “class" and raises funds for vocations as
a class. Labouré does not allow fundraising earmarked for
individual aspirants.
The class starts with a three-day fundraising training seminar ("Boot Camp") where aspirants meet each other, have their vocation stories recorded, have photos taken, and receive intensive training on how to:
• Evangelize and share the JOY of their vocation story
• Invite family, friends, and the community at large to support their vocations class
Laboure aspirant classes-depending on size-raise $500,000 to $1M. Each successive class raises more. This class strategy will continue to expand.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The staff, employees and volunteers of Laboure have extensive backgrounds in fund raising, advancement and development. The staff and employees also have significant backgrounds in software specifically designed to apply to fund raising activities, donor records, amount records, loan payments etc.
We are a team of Catholic business professionals working to increase vocations to the Catholic
Church. The unique charter of Labouré requires the transparent use of commercial quality business
practices, management, and leadership that befit a high-performing public company for training,
coaching, and supervising financial management; this best effort produces world-class results as
applied in Labouré, a non-profit business.
Past success and continued improvement of the multidimensional Laboure program will ensure future success in delivering ever increasing numbers of future priests and sisters to the catholic Church.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have delivered 280 men and women into religious formation for the Catholic Church, but there are thousands more men and women who need Laboure's help in seeking to eliminate their student loan debt. We've accomplished a great deal but we still need to attract and serve numerous more aspirants who need our help so that we can continue to build up the Catholic Church. What we have accomplished so far includes:
1. Full operation since 2003
2. Listed in Official Catholic Directory
3. Ringing endorsements from Bishops and Vocations
Directors around the country
4. Partnerships with religious organizations around the country
5. Over $6 million awarded to Aspirants for student loan debt
reduction
6. Over 285 men and women delivered into religious formation
7. 79 in women's religious communities
8. 36 in men's religious or priest communities (13 of these are
ordained priests)
9. 53 women discerning in religious orders
10. 33 men discerning in religious orders
