What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

12.4 million American children are living in food insecure households. It seems unreal that in one of the wealthiest nations of the world, little children are still going hungry.
This is a problem we simply can't ignore. The children are our future, and right now - the future depends on us.

Feeding America's Hungry Children provides Medical Supplies to Organizacion Christiana De Beneficio Social Esperanza De Vida Children's Hospital (St. Lukes) which serves over 12,000 patients annually with services provided 24 hours every day: *********************************************** These supplies help their Baby Rescue program where over 3,000 children on the brink of starvation are brought to the St. Lukes Hospital each year. These sick children are found in some of the most remote areas of Guatemala and are transported by burro, canoe and truck. Many stay at the St. Lukes Nutritional Center for weeks, others are abandoned by their parents and are given a home in the children's home, and some have dire needs that they must be sent to far away hospitals in an effort to save their lives.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Whether it is distributing Emergency Food Boxes during the holidays, providing nutritious, vitamin-rich, fresh fruits and vegetables, or helping underfed children through member agency programs, Feeding America's Hungry Children is dedicated to relieving hunger to as many of our nation's precious children as we can.

FAHC's target market segment is nonprofit organization set up to distribute food directly to the people in need. We plan to target this group for several important reasons. First, we are a nonprofit organization and believe that we are better positioned to serve the needs of other nonprofits. Secondly, we believe that nonprofit organizations are more likely to try and continue to use a fellow nonprofit for services.
This is a long-term growth organization. By expanding our distribution network and assisting charitable organizations gaining self-reliance to fund their own deliveries, we believe our organization will be better able to remain focused on our primary objective: rescuing surplus food so it can be quickly and efficiently distributing it to those who need it across the country.
