aka Carrie's Girlhood Home Museum & Interpretive Center   |   Charles City, IA   |  http://www.catt.org

Mission

To provide funding to insure the preservation and continued function of the Carrie Chapman Catt Girlhood Home which will serve as a center for education, personal reflection and growth. The Girlhood Home will be used to preserve and interpret Catt's legacy with respect to issues of equality and peace. We see to promote the life of Carrie Lane Chapman Catt as an example for future generations in our local community, statewide and nationally using the site for historical and educational purposes. We encourage educational groups such as the local schools, North Iowa Area Community College, state universities and civic groups to make us of the facility for retreats and study with an emphasis on women's groups.

Prairie Day Camp

A one-day camp for elementary students held the first Wednesday of August at Carrie's Girlhood Home where campers begin their day by registering to vote and casting a ballot. Exploring the native prairie under guidance of a Naturalist; enjoying a pioneer lunch of fried chicken, sweet corn, and dessert; craft project; games from 1800's, and enjoying fresh apple cider (campers help make it happen!)
