The Sheldon Arts Foundation is dedicated to enriching the greater St. Louis region and beyond with a wide range of music, visual arts and educational programs of the highest quality, diversity and educational impact; and to the preservation and operation of the historic Sheldon Concert Hall and the adjoining Sheldon Art Galleries.

SOLID (Science of Learning Instrument Design)

SOLID takes students' innate love of music to teach them STEM principles. Using the Engineering Cycle, students build their own musical instrument that can change pitch and frequency. This program is made possible by Edward Jones, the Lucille Papendick Fund of the St. Louis Community Foundation, and the Les Paul Foundation.
