What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Living the Promise of the Sisters
Avila celebrates its Catholic Identity by helping students find their calling and reach their full potential. Avila lives the Promise by expanding its CSJ Associate formation program, creating new spirituality and service activities and scholarship for mission, faith and service trips.
The Promise of Transformational Learning
The Promise of transformational learning ignites students’ curiosity and lifelong pursuit of learning. Through a student-centered, collaborative learning process, student shift their habits of the mind to improve their critical reflection and thinking. Avila is in the midst of creating new high-quality learning environments which includes new equipment and technology that will enhance learning and help improve student retention.
The Promise of Athletic Excellence & Wellness
In order for students to reach their full potential, they must grow both in and outside of the classroom. Athletic excellence and wellness gives students a chance to work with others and development leadership skills. It also teaches self-discipline and responsibility while creating a richer college experience.
The Promise of Student Success
Avila realizes that giving students access to college education is not enough. We must provide well-executed students services like advising, learning services, tutoring, counseling and student life so all of our students can succeed. Avila is investing in expanded tutoring services as well as the writing center. Avila is also creating new internships and research experience and providing travel grants for students. These support services will enrich students’ learning experience and lead to increased retention and graduation rates.
The Promise of our Future
Avila has made a promise to students, parents and alumni to deliver exceptional education interlaced with the life changing values of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Through innovative curriculum, excellent student services, cutting edge technology and compassionate faculty and staff, Avila is keeping the promise that the Sisters made more than 100 years ago—one that Avila still recognizes in our students today.
