What is the organization aiming to accomplish?

What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?

How will they know if they are making progress?

What have they accomplished so far and what's next?

At Estranged Stories, we are committed to helping those families that are experiencing this kind of pain…
• we are interested in research that looks at why family estrangement appears to be more common or on the rise
• we are interested in parenting styles and outcomes which might give us clues and behavior changes that could prevent estrangement
• we are interested in the effect on children whose parents have chosen to limit contact with grandparents
• we are interested in looking at family patterns and how estrangement often repeats itself
• we are interested in studying and providing a framework of coping strategies for those experiencing estrangement

We are partnering with PhD students to write journal submissions, we are submitting grant proposals and we are available for writing and speaking engagements. We have written a book, and plan to write more -- all sales and proceeds go back to Estranged Stories. we have produced a documentary which will also be for sale on the website with proceeds benefiting the organization.

Due to the nature of this issue, we currently host a private website for people who are experiencing estrangement from family members. We provide comfort through moderation and positive response and encouragement. We host web events for members to talk to each other, and we are developing face to face meeting groups.

Because this topic has little to no available research -- the main indicators are the responses when articles are published, the fact that there are other groups pushing for Grandparent rights in the state of FL, and the conversation on the topic is growing in social media groups.

We now have over 4000 members on our website with another 2000 waiting to join. We have had some reconciliations but the objective is to provide peace and personal development. Based on correspondence, we are making progress in helping people bring this issue into perspective so that they can move in a more positive direction.
