Network Time Protocol Project
The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is designed to synchronize the clocks of computers over a network. NTF’s NTP Project maintains and improves the software and specification for the first clock service on the Internet. The NTP Project continues to work on both the development of the protocol standard that is used to communicate time between systems and the reference software implementation of that standard. The software and protocol specifications produced by NTF’s NTP Project keep the clocks right on tens of millions of computers around the world.

Our Vision: Leading the delivery of accurate and precise time to connected devices around the world.
Our Mission: To sustainably cultivate and promote research, educational, and development programs which keep the state of delivered accurate time in step with both the latest advances in technology and the needs of our consumers.
We are the internet’s clock! We support projects keeping correct/precision
time on computers worldwide, drive standards for Network timekeeping, and provide
public education on precision timekeeping.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Supporting the efforts of several other network time related projects, including Precision Time Protocol (PTP) efforts, advanced computer clock research and software, and navigational satellite time monitoring.
