Adoption and education

We promote responsible pet ownership by educating potential adopters on the inherent characteristics and challenges of the Northern breeds before we adopt to them. We counsel people who are facing challenges with their dog (financial/housing/lifestyle changes) and are seeking to surrender their dogs to rescue.

We are a community resource for husky owners needing training or behavior advice via our website or social media outreach.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Siberian Huskies in Greater Los Angeles and surrounding counties.
To educate prospective husky owners on the inherent challenges of the breed. This is very important because of the high rate of owner surrenders caused by lack of knowledge of this breed of dog.
To be a resource to our community when they need support with training, advice, rehoming of their Siberian Huskies.

Our staff of volunteers monitor the animal shelters within our geographical region and alert us to the Siberian Huskies that need our help so we stay informed of our life-saving priorities.
We attend adoption fairs and outreach events so our rescued Siberian Huskies have the largest exposure possible to find them loving and appropriate homes. We also ensure all of our adoptable animals are listed on the major "pet finder" search platforms.
Our social media platforms are utilized to share tips, support and networking support to our served population of dog owners and prospective Siberian Husky owners

We have 12 rescue kennels located on 10 acres. We adopt between 300 and 350 animals each year and we currently direct 30% of our rescue efforts on the severe medical cases.
We have an extensive reach in California and beyond and our support is growing at a rate of 200 people per month.
As all of our staff are volunteers, every cent raised is used directly on our rescue efforts and infrastructure. This means that each donation has a greater capacity to be transformative.

In the first 7 months of the 2015 we have successfully adopted 168 Siberian Huskies into qualified homes.
Of this number 25% have been medical cases needing vetting and rehab before they were ready for adoption. These injured huskies are most at risk at the shelters because they get overlooked by the general public.
