What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
SASSNA|care case management
This is the next evolution of our organization. SASSNA|care is our new, signature service offering that represents the core of what SASSNA is here to do. Utilizing the social service of case management as a foundation, we have crafted a premium-quality, widely comprehensive, individualized, intervention- and support-focused care program for mentally-diverse children, teens, and young adults, that aims to facilitate the best outcomes possible for our clients. We believe that this is a world-class program and may be the first of its kind.
Advocacy
Our high-quality, professional advocacy service empowers our clients - to successfully navigate complicated social systems, to obtain the things they need and to achieve their goals, and to protect their rights and interests. We can advise you regarding, walk hand-in-hand with you through, and in many cases represent you in systems such as education, healthcare, government benefits, employment, and more. We are highly skilled and experienced advocates.
Special programs
In addition to our primary services of SASSNA|care and advocacy, we offer various other programs relevant to mentally-diverse individuals. These programs may be time-limited, like special events or projects, or they may be ongoing services. These programs are subject to change and we hope to grow these offerings over time.
Whatever your need
Ultimately, our organization exists to simply help mentally-diverse people and their families. While much of what we do fits into one of our specific programs, we know that our community has diverse needs and that not all of these needs fit into our defined programs. We want to be a one-stop hub for whatever the mentally-diverse community requires and we have the comprehensive breadth of expertise to do it. We can often help where others cannot. Were flexible and accessible to everyone, so dont hesitate to ask us for whatever you need assistance with.

- We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
