Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goals include spreading the message that early detection saves lives, expanding our community of support and helping under insured women across the country get the breast cancer screenings they deserve.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Working with Susan G Komen, Standup for the Cure organizes events across the country geared toward introducing an active healthy lifestyle while stressing the importance of early detection. We accomplish this through a fun event including paddling, live music and health and fitness expo. Screening on site makes the process a little less clinical and more comfortable for our participants.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We partner with fantastic partners across the country both within the paddling industry and the local community. Our volunteers and partners give 100% to ensure the success of each event.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We've accomplished : Raising money, screening participants on site, informing participants and onlookers about the importance of early detection and build a great community and brand around Standup for the Cure.\r\n\r\nWe'd like to grow our family of partners at the next level, raise more money (every $125 represents a mammogram) and continue screening more and more of our SUFTC Family!

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
