PETS ARE WORTH SAVING

Striving To Provide Second Chances

aka PAWS   |   Corona, CA   |  www.petsareworthsaving.biz

Mission

The purpose of Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS) is to place stray, abandoned, and unwanted shelter animals into desirable loving homes. We work hard to prevent the mistreatment of animals, impede animal over population and encourage responsible pet ownership through education and outreach with the public. PAWS makes every effort to establish and maintain close working relationships with local animal shelters to hopefully one day end euthanasia of adoptable shelter pets.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Pet Rescue

Pets Are Worth Saving rescues pets who are homeless, who have been abandoned, neglected or in immediate need of medical assistance. We place the pets in a foster/temporary home until we can find a loving/caring permanent home. These pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and groomed if needed. The pets are assessed for medical or behavioral conditions by their foster families before being adopted to their forever homes.

Population(s) Served

Pets Are Worth Saving monitors the pets that arrive at the local shelter. We post information about the pets on the Friends of Corona Shelter Animals Facebook page in hopes of bringing attention to the needs of the homeless pets. We provide the adoption fees for pets who have been at the shelter an extended period of time.

Population(s) Served

Pets Are Worth Saving will take the pets who are in our care to pet adoptions events to help them find their forever homes. We bring our available pets and have them accessible for the public to interact with to see if it is a good match for an adoption.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS) is small, but we aim to save some of the unwanted but adoptable domestic animals at our local shelter. We pay to have the some of the unwanted but adoptable animals spayed/neutered. We pay for vet procedures. We rescue unwanted but adoptable animals and place them in foster homes to save their lives, giving them a 2nd chance at life.

We take the pets we rescue to pet adoption events to get them adopted.

We have unpaid volunteers helping us save unwanted but adoptable pets.

Pets Are Worth Saving has managed to stay afloat for 7 years now with the help and donations from the public. We have been saving the lives of some of the most vulnerable pets at our local shelter. We will continue to save the ones we can as long as PAWS is in existence.
