Teach a man to fish...
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
1 in 7 in the US don't have enough food to eat each day- that is 48 million men, women and children in our country that are hungry every day, living in our communities. The USDA Food and Nutrition Service reports that as of September 2014, there were around 46.5 million individual food stamp recipients (22.7 million households), receiving an average benefit of $123.74 each (around $257 per household). There are ways to improve the lives of the global poor. We need to teach the poor to be self-sustaining.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Clean Water
GLODEV INC works with poor communities to help provide clean water. The projects include: hand dug wells, drilled wells, water catchment, bio-sand filters and Aquavast community filters. Funding for these are made possible by donations and grants.
Aquaponics
GLODEV INC works with poor communities to help provide sustainable nutrition and livelihood by building aquaponic "micro-farms" that yield fresh, organic fish and produce. Once the units are fully functional and the local team has been trained, GLODEV INC releases the project to the local team. Funding for these are made possible by donations and grants.
Eden Gardens Farm
The mission of Eden Gardens is to create a sustainable and nurturing environment to reach those in need and network the community to reach the world.

Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
At Glodev we are hoping to change the mindset of the global poor from seeing themselves as hopeless into hopeful with a vision for the future. We believe the poor should have the opportunity to pull out of systemic poverty through training and empowerment. We desire to see lasting impact in poor communities around the world that affects the next generation is such a way that ends poverty and hunger.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We feel that teaching the poor to help themselves through practical, sustainable projects is the only way to end poverty. We provide training and expertise that empowers people, encouraging their genius while restoring hope and dignity. Once the poor discover that they can affect change by becoming self-sustaining, their mindset changes from beggar to giver. Then they begin to dream and plan for the future.
We accomplish this through sustainable projects including clean water, food systems, education and medical training.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have collective experience of 150 years in business and sustainable project training. The founder and CEO has worked with the poor in over 30 countries for 24 years. Glodev has developed proven sustainability models that can be locally reproduced in any village or community around the world. All projects sponsored by Glodev are built, maintained and become the sole property of the local people. Each project becomes a training model that can be locally reproduced and expanded.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have several pilot projects in Asia, Africa and Central America that are less than 3 years old. We realize that it will take a minimum of 5 years in each case to see measurable change. Our first and oldest project is in San Pedro Sula, Honduras at an orphanage. The boys there were starving and malnourished 4 years ago. Now they are eating fresh, organic fish and vegetables in their own Sustainable Microfarm and going to school. They will not become another statistic of failure in the most violent city in the world.
We have been meeting with the Rotary Chapter in Honduras to build a partnership that becomes a bridge to build more microfarms throughout Honduras. We believe this method of helping the poor help themselves is the answer to breaking the cycle of systemic poverty around the world! We are still waiting for cooperation from Rotary.
