What we aim to solve
The Family Life and Community Resource Center (FLCRC) has been providing support services to students and families in Fort Bend County for 14 years. Since becoming 501c3 non-profit in 2012, FLCRC programs have touched over 5,000 individuals; however, the support services needed continues to out grow the resources available. In the Fort Bend County over 6,000 people were crime victims in 2018; up from the numbers in 2017. Family violence and violent crimes against children have remained extremely disproportionately higher than other crimes. Utilizing an Ecological Model and trauma-informed approach for program services, FLCRC staff provides evidence-based practices for social-emotionally learning and cultural responsiveness as part of the program services. Oftentimes, the clients are students that among the victims of homelessness, family violence or other victims of crimes. FLCRC seeks to strengthen the impact of the services provided to generate powerful outcomes.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Youth Ambassador Leadership Program
Youth Ambassador Leadership Education (Y.A.L.E.) is a program created to provide area-wide leadership opportunities for students to be actively involved with planning and implementing community initiatives. Y.A.L.E. links students throughout the community with real-life opportunities to develop their leadership skills. The Y.A.L.E. program is designed for students 5th grade through college to meet, plan and execute activities and events, in order to foster shared leadership and responsibility.
Victims Intervention Program services (VIPs)
FLCRC connects crime victims with the VIP services by utilizing a case management process to provide counseling, advocacy and other support services.
