What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

"Youth Can" Summer Camp

Every summer the youth within the Foundation run a summer camp program for children ages 5-17. It is titled "Youth Can" Summer Camp and it is for them to explore who they are and who they could become. The camp is designed to introduce opportunities in life that otherwise may have gone unnoticed or been disregarded. The program includes “awareness” events that place emphasis on the importance of pursuing higher education, healthy eating, civic duty, community service, the love for animals, and showing appreciation for the environment. We lead field trips that are geared to ignite passion and interest.

Population(s) Served

The youth within the Foundation (aka the "Young Ambassadors") participates in this annual Thanksgiving Day project. It is a free meal outreach event that is a coordinated effort with members from local churches and completely run on volunteers.

Population(s) Served

The Sr. Christmas is an outreach service project administered by the youth in the Foundation (aka the "Young Ambassadors") around Christmas time. Gifts (donated by the community) are prepared and delivered by the Young Ambassadors to the seniors in the community that are either home-bound or in need of companionship.

The Young Ambassadors program is designed to encourage teen and college students to pursue their dreams and to be a positive impact in the lives of others. Our organization provides the necessary tools to help them achieve their educational and personal goals, and to be leaders within their communities. Our Young Ambassadors are junior high, high school and college students. Their roles are to implement and facilitate youth programs for the organization. The Young Ambassadors have their own board and officers. They meet once a month to discuss programs effectiveness. To be a Young Ambassadors, it is required to attend monthly meetings, participate in monthly community service projects and host four outreach projects per year. The community service and outreach projects are determined by the Young Ambassadors. The Young Ambassadors are charged with mentoring our "Youth Can KIds" as well as each other. Our Young Ambassadors are encouraged to pursue higher education. Upon completion of high school, the Young Ambassadors receive a scholarship to attend the college, university or trade school of their choice.
