Wapello County Fair
Wapello County Fair, a member in good standing with the Association of Iowa Fairs, is a 501(c)(3) organization managed by an all-volunteer board. Located in southeast Iowa along the Des Moines River in the town of Eldon, our Wapello County Fair is a five-day annual event held during the middle of June. Our fair is accessible to all; gate and parking are free. A Little Miss and Queen contest start the fair. A full carnival is featured. Grandstand entertainment includes horse and car races on our 1/2-mile dirt track. The annual country concert draws attendees from across the State of Iowa and surrounding states. Saturday is Kids' Day at the fair with free activities and prizes for kids. One featured event of Kid's Day is fishing in the large pond located on our fair grounds. FFA youth are involved with showing their livestock; open livestock shows are also featured. The Iowa Agricultural Hall features locally grown items and Wapello Hall features hand-crafted items on display.
