Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Take a Breather Foundation is a unique organization that aims to make life a little easier for children living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Our goal is to give these children, along with their families, the opportunity to "take a breather" from CF and focus on creating magical memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. Memories that will strengthen their hearts and minds as they battle the psychological, emotional and economic turmoil that accompanies life with Cystic Fibrosis.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The Take a Breather Foundation raises awareness and money through fundraising initiatives and special events. As a non-profit our goal is to constantly create new means to raise funds. We are developing a network and reaching out to find corporate sponsors and partners to join us in our mission.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our Wish Program is funded through special events, individual donors and grants. We have secured partnerships that will significantly decrease the cost of a segment of our Wish packages allowing us to increase our wish capacity.
We use social media to keep an ongoing and open dialogue with those in the CF Community. We keep them informed about CF, upcoming events and our wish recipients.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have an established network of CFF accredited care centers in the Philadelphia area, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, St Christopher's Hospital for Children and the Bristol Myers Squibb Children's Hospital @RWJUH, that we partner with to identify children who fit our mission.
Our vision is to expand our geographic reach so that we can partner and help families from all 110 CFF accredited care centers across the country.
