Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Chase the Music intends to increase scale of the organization so that we can deliver the gift of music to deserving children across the globe.

Our strategy is for the next 2 years, split our efforts between organizational development and program delivery. We need to do this so that we can not only deliver local programs, but be able to support remote offices and their efforts to deliver unique programs where we are not there at all times to aide in the delivery. These semi-autonomous chapters will need the structure to rely on so that they can deliver quality gifts, at the levels expected by Chase the Music.
During this time of development, we're committed to delivering meaningful programs, where we learn from every gift. Each production will have special meaning and it's delivery will be a step forward in obtaining our world-class position.
As the organization matures, we'll move into a more programs focused organization and systems development will move into maintenance. This is where we'll open up to more countries and cities and really grow the number of gifts made, and impact.

Our capabilities are currently limited as to available resources. We're careful about promotions that would put us in a bad position, where we couldn't deliver. First and foremost we've got to deliver on any commitments. Commitments to the children, the supporting artists, our friends, partners, sponsors and donors. In 2018, we'll deliver original pieces for over 400 children. With solid systems in place, we anticipate at least 10x growth year over year.

We are in our first year, and have done amazing things so far. We've set into motion a unique and powerful organization. We've engaged a constituent base that is diverse. Our message is solid and reverberates well with all who hear the story.

Our next steps are to move past personal funding of the organization and ensure that it can grow to it's fullest potential. To that end we have plans for personal donations, foundation and government grants, legacy giving, organizational partnerships and corporate sponsorships.

Data
  • We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
