What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Selah Freedom is a nonprofit anti-human trafficking organization with the mission to end sex trafficking and bring freedom to the exploited through five life saving programs: Awareness, Prevention, Outreach, Residential, and Consulting services. Selah Freedom confronts the issue of sex trafficking and is upheld as the model for how to effectively bring solutions to survivors of sex trafficking & exploitation. Selah is a Hebrew word which means to pause, rest, and reflect. We give survivors a chance to do just that. Women in our sex trafficking Outreach Program are provided the opportunity to dream again; to discover who it is they were created to be.

Residential Program for Trafficking Victims

Selah’s Residential Recovery Program is a
12- to 24-month program which provides safe housing and comprehensive
restorative healing for women. The program consist of three stages: Rest (Assessment), Restore (Residential) and Relaunch (Independent Living). Selah Freedom Residential Programming includes live-in coaches, special education teachers, clinical
social workers, psychologists and survivor-leaders/mentors. In addition,
volunteers provide victims with counseling, basic life-skills training that
include budgeting, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, personal hygiene, as
well as GED support and job placement assistance.Selah Freedom decided to address the need for residential programming that would help female survivors 18-28 years of age benefit from a safe place to heal in the Southwest Florida region. By addressing this age range, Selah Freedom create great impact impact due to the fact that the 18-28 age bracket characterizes both the highest activity level in the Southwest Florida region as well as the highest program completion rate.   One specialized service provided to Client/Participants includes Rapid Resolution Therapy, a proven technique that was originally developed to successfully treat returning veterans who suffered from severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and that is now available to Selah Freedom Survivors to remove the effects of trauma while opening a new pathway for freedom from the distress of their former life. This program is delivered by Dr. Jason Quintal and Associates.

Our Advocacy & Awareness Program unites with legislators, leaders and attorneys to bring justice to these precious young lives. It serves as a launchpad for individuals who want to learn more about progress in the fight to end sex trafficking in our country.

One major aspect of this Program is "Advocacy". We present the facts about this issue through a legislative lens on a national level. We share our knowledge to equip and empower you on the latest news in this movement, tools to help combat sex trafficking and how to take action from channeling the power of grassroots determination to nationally changing laws.

We are committed to freedom and justice. We are a voice for those who are not yet free to speak up for themselves... yet.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Selah Freedom aims to end sex trafficking and bring freedom to the exploited. We are the nation's fastest growing anti-sex trafficking organization and have been considered the "model" organization in this industry. We strive to bring healing, freedom and full restoration to the survivors we serve.
We offer two Residential campuses to allow Survivors to "Pause, Rest and Reflect" on their life and what their future will hold. Reuniting and building relationships with children and family. Pursuing education and obtaining employment all while receiving wrap-around support and services.

Our Prevention team works to equip youth and parents with the tools they need to protect their children from falling victim to predators. In 2021, this team held over 400 training events, while empowering nearly 11,000 youth and adults on how to avoid common tactics used by traffickers.

Our Awareness team focuses on adult training events in our community reaching over 35,000 attendees in 2021.
The Outreach team works with Law Enforcement and community partners "on the streets and in the jails". Women in our sex trafficking Outreach Program are provided the opportunity to dream again; to discover who it is they were created to be.

Selah's Consulting team has mentored over 60 organizations in 11 states and 3 countries to help them provide safe and sustainable programs in their communities.

We strive to see Survivors move off the streets, reach sobriety milestones, get employment for the first time in years, reinstate driver's licenses and have their charges administratively dismissed, but mostly to begin to live the life they were meant to lead before it was exploited from them.

Selah Freedom accomplishes their mission and goals through five strong, programs: Awareness, Prevention, Outreach, Residential and Consulting services. We partner with law enforcement, the United States Attorney's Office, the FBI, and other leading organizations, legislators and community leaders to achieve success through their work with survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation. Our team is a proud member of the Tampa Bay Human Trafficking Task force.

Selah Freedom has been upheld as the organization leading the nation in the anti-sex trafficking movement, with the highest level of outcomes, measurements and standards. Our expert staff, advisors, board of directors, volunteers and champion donors make it possible to serve this population with great success. Our faith based strong culture sets us apart in this industry, making our programs scalable, yet never losing our essential core values.
Selah Freedom brings human trafficking Awareness and Education to the community and organizations through their speakers bureau team, CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) 101 Course, law enforcement training, and Organizational Consulting. They also advocate for change through legislation. Our Prevention Program equips parents, youth and those who work with them, with the tools they need to avoid being manipulated by a trafficker and successfully prevents them from being commercially sold. Our Outreach Program is active in the jail system and on the street and provides support groups, case management, and referral services to victims currently in "the life", as well as a prostitution court diversion program. We provide Residential Programming for survivors of sex trafficking that includes a personalized educational plan, job placement, trauma therapy, life skills, medical and legal assistance, and holistic restorative care. As we bring light into the darkness of sex trafficking, we see victims transformed into survivors!

OUR IMPACT
With over a decade of sustainable success, it is estimated over 87% of the Survivors that graduated our Residential and Outreach programs have not returned to the life of prostitution.
100% of the Survivors in our program are pursing their educational and career goals.
Selah Freedom has served over 6,282 Survivors of Sex Trafficking.

Selah's Consulting team has mentored over 60 organizations in 11 states and 3 countries to help them provide safe and sustainable programs in their communities. This program will be expanding into a social enterprise to help quickly equip organizations across the country to help fight sex trafficking and end exploitation.

Our Prevention team trained over 11,000 Students and adults in 2021 to help avoid them falling prey to traffickers.
The Awareness team provided training to over 35,000 adults in 2021.
