What we aim to solve
Proactive Health Labs (pH Labs) recognizes the critical role nutrition and health education play in helping people get and stay their healthiest. Research shows 80% of people have some type of nutrient imbalance, which can lead to diseases like obesity, hypertension and diabetes. If people have access to credible and unbiased health education and information at minimal or no cost, the incidence of these chronic, life-threatening diseases would decrease. And just think how great life would be if more of us were as healthy as we could be? We would be better patients, doctors, wives, husbands, employees, employers and citizens. We might even have less crime!
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Consumer Education
pH Labs' goal is to provide credible, easy-to-understand and easy-to-use health information to as many people as possible at no cost to them. It accomplishes this through a series of ongoing online blogs; bylines in a variety of relevant media outlets; Facebook Live broadcasts; community outreach activities such as corporate health fairs, community health fairs, and presentations at local churches and other groups. pH Labs also published a book on nutrition and minerals. Given the importance of nutrition to getting and staying healthy - and especially with at-risk populations - pH Labs also offers nutrition testing at cost and has recently launched free testing with select groups who need it most but can least afford it.

- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
- We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
