Mission

Proactive Health Labs is a national non-profit health information company that provides education and tools needed to achieve optimal health. The organization recognizes the critical role nutrition plays in people's lives. We live healthily by getting the right balance of nutrients such as protein, water, carbohydrates, minerals, fats and vitamins from the food we eat. Research shows 80% of the US population has some type of nutrient imbalance. Nutrient imbalance leads to diseases like obesity, diabetes and hypertension. pH Labs makes nutrient testing available to low-income individuals and its healthcare professionals educate consumers on how nutrient deficiencies should be addressed to reduce incidence of chronic diseases.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Proactive Health Labs (pH Labs) recognizes the critical role nutrition and health education play in helping people get and stay their healthiest. Research shows 80% of people have some type of nutrient imbalance, which can lead to diseases like obesity, hypertension and diabetes. If people have access to credible and unbiased health education and information at minimal or no cost, the incidence of these chronic, life-threatening diseases would decrease. And just think how great life would be if more of us were as healthy as we could be? We would be better patients, doctors, wives, husbands, employees, employers and citizens. We might even have less crime!

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Consumer Education

pH Labs' goal is to provide credible, easy-to-understand and easy-to-use health information to as many people as possible at no cost to them. It accomplishes this through a series of ongoing online blogs; bylines in a variety of relevant media outlets; Facebook Live broadcasts; community outreach activities such as corporate health fairs, community health fairs, and presentations at local churches and other groups. pH Labs also published a book on nutrition and minerals. Given the importance of nutrition to getting and staying healthy - and especially with at-risk populations - pH Labs also offers nutrition testing at cost and has recently launched free testing with select groups who need it most but can least afford it.

pH Labs' strategy is to educate consumers via a series of ongoing online blogs; bylines in a variety of relevant media outlets; Facebook Live broadcasts; community outreach activities such as corporate health fairs, community health fairs, and presentations at local churches and other groups. pH Labs also published a book -- http://phlabs.com/minerals-the-forgotten-nutrient-your-secret-weapon-for-getting-and-staying-healthy . Content is developed, researched and vetted by the pH medical team composed of doctors, healthcare attorneys, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Online seminars featuring the pH Labs medical team are routinely conducted via Facebook live chats and pH Lab's YouTube channel. This team also has the ability to travel to give onsite conferences when requested by churches, social and business groups, schools and other organizations. pH Labs also works with other NGOs focused on health education and information to both expand available content and expand its reach.

Since its founding, pH Labs has published an average of four blogs per week on a variety of health-related topics. They can be found at http://www.phlabs.com/health-info. The organization hosts seminars and live broadcasts with various media outlets and publishes a variety of contents in popular health magazines and online mediums. We also utilize social media to educate the public per year, which are then are made available via pH Labs' Facebook page and other platforms such at the organization's website www.phlabs.org. pH Labs has published a book on nutrition, "Minerals - The Forgotten Nutrient," which is available at minimal cost (with all proceeds going to support pH Labs' educational activities). pH Labs is currently developing a follow-up book and continues to expand its health-related information and services to help people get and stay their healthiest.

pH Labs also has a physical presence in the form of a health centers located in Sherman Oaks and Carlsbad, California. Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.

  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
