What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Church and ministry leaders face superhuman expectations as they guide their congregations and communities into health. 58% of pastors feel that seminary has not properly prepared them for their ministry tasks. 65% fear they and their family are not good enough to live up to the unrealistic expectations others have for them. 58% feel lonely because they do not have any trusted friends to share their personal issues and struggles. Ministry leaders facing these challenges often experience burnout, family distress, and marital struggles, decreasing the likelihood that they will be able to guide their communities into health.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Retreats

Retreat Shepherds are experienced and trained couples who host ministry leader couples at beautiful vacation homes located across the country. These one week retreats allow the time for ministry leaders, one couple at a time, to step out of the battle for a time of much needed encouragement and rest. During the retreat, a life-long, confidential, trusted mentoring relationship is established.
Standing Stone Ministry retreats have a 98% success rate; these ministry leaders are still married and active in ministry.

Population(s) Served
Adults

Standing Stone Shepherds come to ministry leaders aid with authority and empathy! Shepherds are men and women who have decades of ministry experience. They know how to fight in the trenches and offer their; knowledge, wisdom and expertise to these ministry leaders.
This is done at no cost to our ministry leaders, as our Shepherds have worked to develop and build their own army. This army is used to help shield and safeguard them with prayer and to provide them with financial support so that they can freely serve these ministry leaders.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our mission is to guide ministry leaders into healthy ministry so that their communities and cities flourish. Our primary mission goal is to provide ministry leaders with a trusted, confidential guide--our Standing Stone shepherds--who come alongside them with pastoral counseling, presence, wisdom, and guidance that increases their health.

Our foundational strategy for guiding ministry leaders into healthy ministry is through healthy, equipped, and committed Standing Stone shepherds--employees of our ministry who are trained and resourced to help ministry leaders navigate their challenges and step into opportunities to guide their congregations and communities into health so their cities can flourish.

Our internal leadership team of experienced, wise ministry leaders has the capacity to train, equip, resource, and guide our Standing Stone shepherds as they come alongside ministry leaders to guide them into ever-increasing health.

Standing Stone currently has over 200 Shepherds in 37 states guiding over 3,500 ministry leaders who lead around 1 million people people to embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ--to share the good news of Jesus, heal the sick, challenge systems of injustice, and to care for the poor, widows, strangers, and the vulnerable in their cities.
We are actively growing and training our base of shepherds to increase our reach so that more ministries and cities can be impacted for the common good.
