What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

One of the biggest setbacks facing the Muslim community in the Greater Nashville/Middle Tennessee Area is lack of access to resources vital in the integration process. Some of those services include, but are not limited, ESL classes, access and knowledge of healthcare opportunities, citizenship courses, daycare, securing housing and finding jobs. Having access to such services is vital to effective integration of immigrant communities. While there are other nonprofit organization providing such services, PAUSA is unique in that it knows the desires and preferences of the Muslim community.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To fight bias, bigotry, and racism through education and interfaith dialogue. PA will be utilizing education and outreach programs mixed with charitable works to accomplish its mission. Through these activities and programs, PA will focus on building bridges of peace, understanding, and co-existence between Muslim and non-Muslim Americans of all faiths and backgrounds and create an easier path for integration for new Americans. Peace Ambassadors USA’s vision is to excel in providing innovative outreach services and education programs by establishing quality instructional programs, disseminating educational products, and founding charitable works and services in order to promote better interfaith communication and services.

In order for us to achieve our goals, we must first and foremost continue with our hard work and dedication. We must also continue running our existing programs that aim at providing the community with access to the services mentioned in the first section. Furthermore, we must strive to improve and build upon those programs. In addition to our already established programs, however, PAUSA must create new programs to begin providing more services, such as ESL Classes for men and women, driving classes, citizenship courses, a financial literacy program, and more. In order for us to be able to create and manage these programs, we will need the support of the community. We must make it a priority to please the community and work to maintain their continued support.

PAUSA has been an organization dedicated to helping the community for years, and as such, has built a reputation WITHIN the community. This gives us the opportunity to assess their needs and provide the right service at the right time. In addition, our years of experience in running community centered programs have given us the necessary experience and tools to continue doing the work that we do. We have an outstanding administrative team, global reach, the ability to fundraise, and the capacity to manage programs and create events.

So far, PAUSA has successfully run the following programs: the Peace Ambassadors Weekend & Summer School (PAWS), Sewing Classes, Martial Arts Classes, Citizenship Courses, and Youth Sleepover Camp. In addition, however, PAUSA partnered with the Nashville International Center for Empowerment from 2017-19 to run ESL Courses, Driving Lessons, a mentorship program for the youth, a health fair, an afterschool program for children and youth, and various other successful projects. We are currently working on improving and expanding our existing programs and projects, as well as creating new ones. As the community has expressed a great interest in our organization providing ESL courses, driving lessons for men and women, more sewing courses, and more programs aimed at children and youth, we will focus our attention on creating/expanding those specific programs first and foremost.
